Using an experimental setup from the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research at the University Hospital Frankfurt, Jochem Hendricks conducted experiments to visualize pure imagination. The artist lay with his eyes closed in a magnetic resonance tomograph and alternately ran contrasting affective-emotional and intellectual-linguistic ideas in front of his inner eye. These experiments were recorded and visualized with a specially developed program.
