In two years of research, Hendricks selected young artists from America, Asia, Australia and Africa so as to recruit them for a collaborative project. Hendricks sent them all the same original photo for their rendition of various pictorial motifs, for example, one of a sunset. The individual artistic rendering was discussed extensively in advance. For their actual work artists exclusively used materials produced on other continents and sent to them from these continents. In a kind of global outsourcing, the American artist, for instance, created her work using a concept from Europe and paint from Australia, on a canvas from Asia. Upon completion, the picture was sent to Hendricks in Europe and mounted on a specially designed wooden frame from Africa so that the frame is before the painting and thus becomes an element of equal significance.
